I know it has been a darn long time since I last posted! Life just took over for me the last little while and creating has (sadly) had to go on the back burner for the most part. I do have several projects that I want to share, but for today, I'll just go with these little items I made this morning.

One of my sons wanted something "cool" for his skateboard and chose these two designs. We'll be cutting these in vinyl - and I'll post pics of them once we get them on the board.

Quick Cut Before Christmas

I've been so busy lately! I apologize for not posting more often! I've been working like crazy on some photos that my mother gave me to scan and preserve... and well, I'm having such fun with that - that I've kind of let my cuts slide some...

I am seriously loving the new features in MTC! I tried this cut because I wanted to see just how much I could push myself with these new features. So here is the picture I chose. Made for my little sister who has spent a great deal of time in the hospital lately. I made these vinyls for mirrors - to help remind her what is important - and that I love her to pieces.

One of my little guys loves ninjas. We found this image in Google images and converted it to the vinyl. We also added a sword - just because he wanted one. I'ts not perfect and we haven't figured out quite where to put this one yet, but we both liked the cool background for this photo!

Keeping Busy

I've been super busy the last couple of weeks. We had a sweet baby girl with us for respite and we didn't want to give her back! :)

Sorry I don't have any freebies for you today - but here are a few projects that may give you a few ideas of your own...

I made this card for my DH for our anniversary on March 18th. I used a file from the very talented Wanda to cut the card and a simple set of rings from one of my Cricut cartridges. Wanda has some amazing files - go take a look!

I loved this one! I made another wall hanging for my nephew's birthday. He is over 21" tall!

I got this wonderful creation from Mardenz blog. Oh! How I wish I could create files like she does! This one was so cute that we almost didn't give it away... kidding...

Just a simple card from my Stampin Up club. The fanciest thing on here is putting "dazzling diamonds" glitter on the stamped image with the 2-way glue pen. Super quick, super easy and very pretty.

Another card from my Stampin Up club. Very quick and easy birthday card - again putting the glitter on the cupcakes with the 2-way glue.

This final project was one we put together with little bags and tags. Could be used as a little photo album gift, or to send notes, or even "coupons" for favors. I'm always so impressed at how easy and fun these things are to make.

I hadn't used my Wild Cards cartridge in awhile, so made this card for fun. I made sure I inked up the card, used lots of stickles and some Flower Soft. I gave the pots a glazed look with some "crystal effects".

I thought this door was such a cute way to send this card (recipient still unknown). I did add the wreath with some more Flower Soft and a pearl handle, after I'd aged the door a little with some ink and a sponge. Even DH like the way this one turned out.

Been a LOOONNNNNGGGG time!

It's has been a few weeks since I was able to post last. I've been busy with some great projects though! Here is just a sampling of what I've been up to.

I made this scrapbook page at my Stampin Up Club. The theme, of course, was Valentine's Day. I really liked this layout. Made it easy to put several shots on one page - and it was super easy to put together!

This one I made using an svg from the great Paulo. I am always so amazed at what he is able to create! The picture doesn't show it very well, but I was able to use some Glamour Glitter on ScorTape to fill in the stars and letters. The edges were inked too (though they look more smudged here!) This poster hung on the wall at church for our "Secret Sister" event in February.

This card was a request from DH for his brother's birthday. Pretty simple, but effective. I used the PDDU and George cartridges to put this one together.

This is my first attempt at a vinyl image for the wall. My sweet little niece said she wanted something Ariel for her birthday. I made it as big as I could - and the piecing was harder than I thought it would be - but it worked! I used the "Dreams Come True" cartridge for this one.

My daughter and I spent some time at a Digital Storytelling Workshop too. Two days of planning, writing, scanning, editing, recording... It was a great - and very emotional - experience! I was super excited to learn how to do this as I could see so many uses for sharing stories like this. Family History comes to mind first... Here she is getting help from one of the teachers.

I was able to put some wall vinyl together for a friend too. She had requested these...

Loving the Christmas Projects

So many people were making these, and it looked so easy that I had to give it a try. Super easy! Super quick! and Gorgeous! I made these in under 30 minutes for each of the kids and my mom. We put them on the tree just in time for Christmas...

Just take a glass ornament ball (I got mine at Michael's) put a few drops of ink from a re-inker - or alcohol inks. Swirl it around until it completely coats the inside of the ball. Then add some glitter. Cover the top of the ball with your thumb and shake it baby! I finished each one off with a vinyl cut of their names using fonts "Grinched", "Curlz", and "MC Twinkle Star". What do you think??

More Christmas Projects

I have been busy busy busy again... and I openly admit to scraplifting some of this stuff. But that's why we share with each other, right?

I got this great svg pattern from Denise's blog. I made 3 of these and put them on 12" round mirrors to give as gifts to very special friends this year.

My mother asked me to make some cards for her siblings, and these are what I came up with. I used the Christmas Solutions cartridge to cut out the tree onto some mounting paper. I got the different colors by taking out only certain parts of the design and adding some "Glamour Glitter" to the sticky page. Sorry the pictures don't do these justice. It is a very cool effect to have the entire design in glitter. And the Glamour Glitter is so fine that this design is smooth to the touch. I used some Flower Soft for the snow and on the embellisments on the inside of the cards.

We have some little friends who turned 2 on December 5th. So I quickly created these cards using Design Studio, Sesame Street Font and George.
This one is for Brooklyn...and this one is for Will. The glitter is Martha Stewart and it GLOWS in the dark! The little kids loved them!

I totally scraplifted this one off of the Cricut message board - but it was worth it! Such a cute idea! It was for my mom and she loved it too. Kind of fun to see her reaction when I know she loves something I've given her. Love ya mom!

I used Paper Doll Dressup to cut out these images, and embellished them with a whole bunch of different stickles, inks, fun flock and paints. Although it is not my design, I did save my .cut file if any of you would like to have a copy of it.

Christmas Ornaments and SVG's

I have been really busy as of late! I've made so many things and have so many more to go - and the clock is just ticking away. I need to slow down and enjoy a little bit more of the "Christmas" spirit and not so much "rush"...

I used vinyl on both sides of these little glass ornaments that I picked up at Michaels. I also put a little bit of fake snow inside, along with a small cut of something Christmasy - like a stocking, star or toy.

Everyone had matching ribbons to hang the ornaments with.

These were super fun to make and really easy! We'll be mailing most of these out this week, and hope that they get there in time for Christmas.

I also did a very rough cut of one of the churches from the Winter Wonderland cartridge. These are so stinkin' cute! I haven't made a bigger one yet - but I can see so much potential for decorating these. Something for every season!

This last weekend I was asked to help with the ward "Super Saturday" and we made some signs with vinyl on them. I totally scored with the vinyl as I called a local sign shop and they said I could come pick up some scraps for FREE! There was quite a bit of it there - and certainly more than enough to cut for the signs were were making. Here are some samples of our finished projects...

They turned out so well! The girls making them wanted to have another sign making activity with some ideas for Family Home Evening boards.

Posters and Another Layout

I had a very productive weekend! DD called me from work on Friday night and said that she had volunteered to help with a work project... which actually translated to mean that she'd volunteered ME for a work project. They were having a special in the cosmetics department and she couldn't bear to watch this girl cutting out snowflakes with a template and scissors. She told me what we needed to do, so we got right to work and came up with these -

There were 13 of them all together. Just different snowflakes that we sprinkled Dazzling Diamond glitter on - but they did turn out quite well. The girls at DD's work thought they did too... She said that she got hugged "lots" and there was also lots of squealing and kudos for these "beautiful posters". They sent home a great thank you package full of new perfumes and creams! Both things that I LOVE!

I was still in the mojo mood, so I finished up a scrapbook page that I had started about a week ago. I know! But it turned into quite a busy week! This layout is based on a sketch from Crafts By Rowena. (I love her sketches!) Let me know what you think. :)

I used lots of stickles, paint, beads and flower soft to embellish them. I even embossed many of the accents. I hope to be able to give these to the kids by next week.

Birthdays and Boss' Day

I've been working on a few things these last couple weeks. First of all, it is birthday month at our house, so we've had a couple of invitations to make.

V is first in the month and here is what we were able to come up with for him.

We used Wild Card and Everyday Paper Dolls, as well as the musical notes to emboss. I also versa marked and glittered the front of the card. Our little guy was pretty tickled with how these turned out... and they turned out a darn site better than the nasty cake!

Do NOT try to ice a warm cake with icing that is too thick! Nuff' said...

Our next birthday is coming up next week, but the party is this weekend. Here is what we came up with for birthday party number 2.

This one we made using the Everyday Paperdolls alien and spaceship. I simply welded two spaceships together to make the card. I found a spare sheet of acetate to use as the bubble cover. I also made a little slit to put the alien's head through. If I had remembered to take a picture of the inside of this card, you'd see the little backside of the alien opposite the invitation details. T was thrilled to hand these out to his friends - mostly because it was his idea.

Lastly, tomorrow is "Boss' Day". I offered to make a card for my mother to take to her boss. I was lucky enough to find this little gem on Denise's Scrapbooking page - and here's my take on her card.

This one proved to be a little bit more difficult than I had thought it would be! Some of the lettering in the file was just too delicate for me to get off the mat in one piece. So I reworked a couple of things, lost one of the phrases totally (hey - it was that or my mind!) and added some serious embellishing.

I embossed the front with the Cuttlebug pattern, Victoria. Then I brushed it with some real rust, and old olive inks from SU. I used the heat and bond to attach the glitter at the bottom. On the inside I distressed the one side with some ranger ink and pearlessence by spraying and wiping. Then I matted the back with the same paper as the words cut and added a little flower I found in my stash. Lots of room for mom to write her message and sign her name.

Shape Book!!

I could hardly wait to show this one off! I've been working on it for over a week now - and even I love the way this turned out!

I was watching and learning from a pro on these shape books... Let me introduce you to Lisa over at The Bug Junkie.

Lisa is one of the most talented people I've seen around! Her work is incredible! But she shares too - and she created a series of instruction videos to help create a shape book. So without further ado - here is what I was able to create by following along with Lisa...

I loved these so much that I made two of them for my nephews. Even my kids were impressed and may have been quoted as saying, "You made this??"

These little books can be used as photo albums or just for decoration. I will be sending them to the boys this week with a little pack of Halloween stickers and I hope that they like them too!

No Time for Crafting!

I have just not had the time to dedicate to my crafting that I would like to! Those darn farming games on Facebook are just sucking up all my time I tell you! Kidding - sort of...

We were to give a presentation to our Fostering Agency on Tuesday. A kind of accounting for why they sent us to Atlanta and I made the cutest little tag/bookmark thingy's - and forgot them at home!!

I did like the way they turned out though... I used A Child's Year and Christmas Cheer cartridges. Then I sprayed them all with Ranger inks and rubbed the edges with a matching SU inkspot. Ribbon is from Walmart.

I also did a little work on some cards. The intent was to do another of those One Page Wonders (see my post here), but I only got to complete one of them.

The cut just happened to put the skull where it did on this card. She's cute - but I confess I don't get the whole "skull" thing. Maybe some one can explain it to me one day...

Christmas Card

I decided to play around with the Christmas Solutions cartridge this week. Using Design Studio I was able to create this card.

Still looking kind of plain to me... so I added some ribbon...

I used Crystal Effects and some Stickles to bling it up... Finally! The finished product!

I also completed some cards at my SU Club on Saturday night. Anita always has such fun ideas! This one was a "one page" design. The pattern was set up so that we could get make 8 cuts from one piece of 8 1/2" x 11" of cardstock. We also made a very cute little envelope - suitable for gift giving! Here's what they look like...

These were really easy and quick to make - not to mention FUN! I took V with me to this club night and he was having a great time with all the inks and stamps and cutting... He came home and went to work on a second set!

Some Projects Done This Week

I have been able to work on a few projects this week. They are all small projects but fun all the same.

This is one of two tiles that I made my Mom for Grandparents Day. I had an svg file (again - I don't know who made and I'm so sorry! I'll do better in the future!) I cut it on oracle vinyl and added a little bit of Flower Soft to give it some dimension.

Here is the second tile... I used the centre from the first cut and added Flower Soft as well. These were simple and fun to make.

I was able to pick up an absolutely adorable paper pack! This one is shiny, has a ton of glitter and such a cute theme! Watch for some projects with this one very soon!

I put together a scrapbook page for my grandmother and her sisters. DD helped me pick out the color scheme and I used a sketch from Crafts by Rowena. (Great work again, Rowena!) I love the way this one turned out!

My last project was for DH. He has wanted something "cool" for the truck windows and we just couldn't find the "perfect" thing. He finally settled on one of his teams and here is what he got. If you look really close you can see that there is a second on on the opposite side of the truck - but please ignore the reflection in the window. ha! You can get the scut file for this logo here.

I hope to have more time for crafting this week - and I'd like to post pics of the cards the V and I made at our SU club on Saturday night. More to come!

Whew! I've been busy this last week!! Here's what I mean...

I needed to make another "reminder sign" for our kids bathroom. This one seems like it should be an easy one to remember - right? Sigh...

I used SCAL and my oracle vinyl to complete this one. If you want the scut file - please leave me a message and I'll send it to you.

My dear friend asked for my help to get the invitations out and ready for our ward Relief Society "Provident Living Party". We used files from "A Child's Year" cartridge to put these together. They turned out really cute - the pictures don't do them justice. We cut out and tied almost 50 of these last Saturday night and managed to pass them all out on Sunday morning! Whew!

Tuesday morning, I got the sad news that my friend's brother passed away this last weekend. I can't remember a time when I didn't know him - I mean we were all very small kids together. So I needed three cards for this one and I used these great card files that I found on the very talented Penny Duncan's blog. I embossed, glued and glittered each of them, and added the phrase "with sympathy" from the Wild Card Cartridge.

This is such a tragedy and their family is hurting so much! I hope that they can feel how much I care for them with these cards.

Lastly, my mother called this morning to tell me that her coworker/friend lost her grand baby to SIDS this morning. I wasn't sure if the baby was a boy or a girl - so I decided to make two cards to cover all the bases.

Sweet Girl Layout

I was able to finish a layout using pictures of one of our previous foster children. I started with a layout sketch from the Crafts by Rowena Blog. I just loved her sketch! Thanks, Rowena!

I used George and Basic Shapes to cut out the pictures and the photo mats, Accent Essentials "end cap" feature to create the pocket and Graphically Speaking for the Sweet Girl cut. You can get the .cut file that I created for this layout here.

I also cut a few butterflies using Sure Cuts A Lot, and painted Elmer's Glitter Glue on them. My own personal el-cheapo way to get the bling in there. :)

I also used my mat pack to punch holes on the pocket and write small lines between holes for that "faux sewing" look. Paper is from SU and my LSS.

Finally, I added some "Summer" Flowersoft to some flower embellishments that I had and randomly stuck them on too. Pink was Miss J's favorite color - and I think she really would have like how this turned out. I know I did!

Had to share this too! I got THIS in the mail yesterday! YAHOOOO!!

I can hardly wait to play with all the images on this cart - as well as all the new cards! Fun, fun, fun!

Tooth Fairy, A New Car and a Get Better Card

I had begun to put together a new layout for T last week, but totally got side tracked with all the kids coming and going over the last few days. I finally got finished this one earlier this week - and it probably needs some explaining.
T loves to write notes to the Tooth Fairy. In this first one, he wrote a note asking the Tooth Fairy if she was a boy or a girl. That Tooth Fairy was late that week too - so this is the note Terry got back from her:

"Hey T!
Sorry about last night but I had some bad Chinese food and I was sick! Anyway, I am a girl because who ever wants to be a boy and called a fairy! Haw haw hee hee hoo hoo. That's funny. Sorry again. Here's 2 bucks instead of 1."

With this second note, T asked her what her name was and if she could leave him some fairy dust and got this note back from the Tooth Fairy:
"Dear T,

Thanks for your letter. My name IS The Tooth Fairy. Sorry I didn't have any dust left, so here's a couple of quarters. Love you lots! Now lose more teeth!!"

The Tooth Fairy leaves pretty funny notes here at our house!

Part of the reason I was so busy last week is that I had to help DD to buy her first car. It just so happens that our bishop is a car salesman, and that means we trusted him! :) He got her a great deal on her "G5" and she was stoked! Actually, I was too as that meant I got my van back!

One of the first things she asked for was an "Eeyore" decal and here's what we came up with.

Lastly, my poor "baby" sister is in the hospital this week and just feeling really lousy physically and emotionally. I made her this little card today to try and help cheer her up. Sorry about the picture... in a hurry and all that! I used a .cut file from a wonderful person on my yahoo groups, who deserves full credit - but her name eludes me at the moment. I'll give credit if anyone can help me remember who created this file! I embellished with SU Dazzling Diamond glitter, my Cuttlebug circles folder, Elmer's Glitter Glue, Liquid Applique, flower brads, and ribbon. It was a rush job but turned out way better than this picture shows and she liked it - so that's all that matters. :)

Trying to Get Back...

My goodness I've found it hard to get back to creating since we've been back from Atlanta! So much to catch up on and kids wanting all the time. I guess that's what's important after all...

I was able to squeak out one LO this week though. I'd actually done this one previously using my Graphically Speaking cartridge. I just needed to add the picture and journaling mat. This is why I LOVE shopping with my DH! He makes life so entertaining...

Honoring Grandpa

I was given a picture of my grandfather, taken in around 1925. Kind of neat to see him like this... he was a pretty "old guy" by the time my mother was born, so I never knew him "young" at all!

Here is what i came up with for my scrapbook page...

I think the paper is from CTMH. The clock was cut from Graphically Speaking. Ribbon is from Stampin Up and Walmart. :) The words were cut with SCAL. I also tried to accent the clock and the word "Grandfather" with white and gold gel pens.
I wanted this one to be special, because Grandpa was really a great guy! He passed away in 2002 at the age of "ninety eight and a half". I remember that he had always said he wanted to live to be 100, but a few days before he died, he told me that he was really tired and he missed his parents. I know how he felt... we all miss him and his great sense of humor.

Might be a little while before I'm able to post again. DH and I are headed to Atlanta GA for a Foster Parent Conference on Saturday. I've never been to the deep south US before and I'm super stoked to go!! Hope to have some great pics of Georgia to post and scrap by the time I get back.

Scrapbook Page

This is one of my first attempts at scrapbooking using a "sketch". I picked up a book from the library and chose one of the designs in there. This one was for a picture that I really wanted to preserve in a special way, because it was a rarity. My mother gave me a photo of my great-great grandmother, (my grandfather's grandmother)! Too cool! Here's what I came up with -

It took me hours to figure out what to cut and where to place it. I'm sure that this comes easy to some, but not to me. In the end, I was happy with the way it turned out.

They are not fancy, but I made my own borders with Sure Cuts A Lot and they are available here if you'd like. I also created her name with SCAL, but don't remember the font. The dates and frames were done with Design Studio and Storybook. Papers were from Stampin Up and my personal stash.

My next project will be to make one of my grandfather using this picture. It is my goal to take pictures as I go along for this next one... mostly so I can remember what I did in case I have to do it again!

Since I'm so new at this, if you have any ideas (or sketches) that could help me - would you please send them my way?

Craft Room Update!

I'm in my craft room!!! The floor is in, the baseboards are up! The door has a lock on it! And I'm thrilled!! My own space to work on my projects and not have to put them away for dinner time. :) Sigh... does life get much better than this?

My new space is awesome and bright - and here are some of the projects I was able to work on in my new room yesterday...

For my DH's birthday! A football fan... I couldn't find any footballs, so gave him a trophy instead. He deserves it after all the work he's done on these rooms the last couple of months! I used my SCAL to cut the welded letters from a font called "All Star". I cut the trophy from Locker Talk and wrapped some embossed tin foil around it. I used the Cuttlebug and a Fiskars plate to get this look.

A Hello Kitty card for my niece. I had promised her a day to get together to do some crafting, and then it never happened. I tried to make it up to her with an "official" invitation to Aunty's house to play with the paper. My mother took it to her last night - along with some other cards for her brothers. Mom said they loved them - and that's all that matters to me! I used the card feature on the Hello Kitty Cartridge and pieced it together with the outline feature as well. I also added some glitter glue to the bow and shirt after I'd snapped this photo. Gave it a little extra "pop".

More good news this week too. (Just keeps getting better and better for me!) My newest cartridge, Graphically Speaking got here. I haven't had an extra moment to sit down and print some of these things off yet - but I'm looking forward to some time later tonight or tomorrow. The boys are at camp and the house is almost up to standard, so I'm going to take advantage of that.
This one looks like a super cartridge and I'm hoping that our trip to Atlanta next weekend will get us some great photos that need layouts!

Challenges!

Vinyl on the Van

I used my cricut and some vinyl to advertise my business on my van. Plus, it keeps DH from driving it! I used the Jasmine and Mickey and Friends cartridge to put this together. These weren't terribly hard to put together and YES! You can layer vinyl!

I was also able to take a couple of photos of my Scrapbook Day posters before too many people got to church. Didn't think it would be appropriate to be snapping pictures as people were gathering in the foyer. I used the Storybook cartridge to make all the letters and the frame. I also used the Design Studio to weld the frame and letters for the center. I made sure to pop this one out! Thought it was kind of cute - and had a few compliments on it today too.

I was supposed to be moving into my craft room this week - but we had to re-mud the walls - which means we now have to repaint the walls. One more week! I hope... I don't want this to be a summer long project anymore!

Nephew's Baptism

Our nephew in Edmonton is going to be baptized this weekend. Although we can't be there, I made a spinner card and a cute gift that we will send up to him.

I used some of Provocraft's cardstock for the base and some of my stash for the background and letters. I ran the yellow through the Cuttlebug to emboss it. Little guy is from Paper Dolls and font is from Sesame Street. This card spins FAST! It is very cool - if I do say so myself!

The can is filled with some gumballs and candies. We used one of the Tupperware can openers to open it - and then resealed the lid back onto the can with "Crystal Effects" from Stampin UP!

I also made some posters for the ward Scrapbooking Day coming up on July 25th - but forgot to take pictures before they were posted. I'll have to take the camera to church tomorrow and get pics of them then.

Wedding Card and some Sponge Bob

We've been busy today! My mother asked me to help her make a card for a friend's wedding tomorrow and here's what we came up with... This is based on a design from the "Just For Sharing" blog. Such beautiful work from there and so generous to share it!

The boys and I were also playing with the new Sponge Bob cartridge. We love this one! It is so much fun! Here's what we came up with for their walls... T is holding his new Sponge Bob and V is holding his Patrick Starfish creation and making darn sure that I don't catch him smiling for any photos. Both boys worked really hard at piecing these together. It was a fun time with mom!

In between getting all of this done - we finished painting the new rooms!! Actually, my children painted the rooms. Tyler helped D with the first coat and Sarah came over today and painted her little heart out until it was complete! I am so thrilled! THANK YOU!! I'm going to be starting the flooring tomorrow or Monday and doors go up on Wednesday. It's almost done! WOO HOOO!!!

I will post pics once it is all completed. I know you'll love the finished rooms as much as I do.

Cuttlebug and Sponge Bob!

I did it... I broke down when that 50% off coupon landed in my email. I even tried to avoid it for a couple of days but thinking about it got the better of me and I went to Michael's and bought a Cuttlebug... and to be honest... I LOVE IT!

I have no desire to cut things with it. I bought it only for embossing and so far I'm having a blast with it! I already had a couple of embossing folders that I'd used with a rolling pin - but I'd seen a video that shows how to made your own embossing cards and I can hardly wait to have time enough to try that. The possibilities are endless!

And just when I was having fun rolling everything I could find through the Cuttlebug - my Spongebob cartridge arrived. I had to make something with it right away. Opened up the Design Studio and made this little guy into a card...

I think I chose this one because I was so frustrated at the first official day of summer vacation home with the boys. Sigh... Water fights, wrestling fights, name calling fights and LOST glasses!! We're in for a long vacation...

Through all that I did manage to get another card done too. This one is one of Jennie Bean's inspirations. It doesn't look like hers - but it was only my first attempt!

You can see where I ran it through my Cuttlebug too. I know it looks amateurish - I'm not fooling myself - but it was fun to make and I did learn some stuff along the way.

We're painting the basement rooms this week so I hope to be able to post some pics of that later.

Tried it and it Worked!

So I was blog hopping and read something about welding shapes to make cards. (There are some beautiful cards out there by the way...) I thought this looked like a lot of fun and would be so cute to do too! So, I welded some shapes in DS from the cartridges I already have. These particular cartridges do not have the "card" option as a feature - which made this doubly cool to me! Here's what I came up with -

Aren't these adorable?! This opened up a world of possibilities for me! All I had to do was load two shadow images, flip one and weld them back to back. Then I simply created the original cut from the cartridge and attached it to the front. One lesson I did learn with Cookie Monster here is to use a light color for the shadow... Black is hard to write on! I'll figure something out for the inside of this one - but what fun!

Now I can hardly wait until my Sponge Bob cartridge gets here! I'm itching to try these as birthday cards for the kids this summer.

Many Creations and Happy Father's Day!

I finally finished my cards and boxes for my Stampin Up club card exchange last night. I made 10 but here are 7 of them.

I got the idea for the boxes from Dawn's Stampin Thoughts and I used Hello Kitty, Pooh & Friends, Paper Doll Dressup and Mickey and Friends on my cricut to cut the shapes. I got the font from the Sesame Street Font cartridge. I do not know where the paper came from, or the ribbon for that matter. It was stuff from my stash...

The pictures are a little blurry - but I think they turned out really cute!

I've been try to work with my new SCAL program too. I've been able to find some really beautiful cuts - but I'm still struggling to find my inner creativity with this one. I'll get there.

I did make some things with it for Father's Day though. Here is a picture of what we gave DH for Father's Day this morning. I made the card, and the decorations for the can with SCAL and DS.

The card was a downloaded idea from another girl (who I'd love to give credit too - but can't remember where I got it from! I'll get better at this - I promise!) and the cans are a combination of some Stampin Up stamps with embossing and my Storybook cartridge. Really cute idea too! We used the Tupperware can opener that opens cans on the side, washed them out really well, filled them with candy and super-glued the lids back on. Dad LOVED them! He also got waffles for breakfast, a Boston Pizza chocolate and a clay dragon in a CD case. He also got a chocolate bar at church. Not a bad haul!

My Jukebox has Arrived!

It got here today and I'm dying to try it out! My Cricut Jukebox that I won on EBay! Yay!
I was super excited when I saw the box at the door.

My son couldn't figure out why I was so excited about a "jukebox" when we already have a stereo. I said it wasn't that kind of jukebox. "So you hook it up to your I-pod then?" he asks... Sigh... "No son. It's for my Cricut. It holds six cartridges at once." That's when he told me that I was officially the biggest geek he'd ever met. I can live with that. The way I see it, if a teenager thinks you're a goof - you're doing something right!

Can't wait to put this one to use! Actually I can't wait to put it to use in the new craft room! Off to mud some walls now...

Took the Plunge

I took the plunge and bought Sure Cuts A Lot. The things that you can do with this program seem to be ENDLESS! I haven't created a whole lot with it yet... but I have found some wonderful "freebies" that others have shared and I am anxious to work with some of those. I promise that if I do - I will give credit where credit is due. :)

I do have some pictures of the adorable card boxes that I made this weekend - but I want to finish all ten of them before I post. It was a very busy and productive weekend both for the card box projects and for hubby getting the drywall done on the new rooms in the basement. My craft room will be done soon!!! YAY!! I can hardly wait to post pics of that new room too! I don't think DH understood my desire to create things until he started working on those rooms downstairs. Something kicked in for him and he worked like a madman all weekend. Heap big proud of himself too! He should be - he did great work!

Still Going...

I DID do some housework today! Honest! But I was on such a roll after yesterday that I decided to make a few more things today. So after finishing the 10th lace card for my Stampin Up Club, I made these for the girls I visit teach...

I just loved the colors in these ones. Again, the designs are not mine but borrowed from Just for Sharing and Scrapped Lives. Hope that the girls like them!

Also - big news for the day! I won a Jukebox on Ebay! Can't hardly wait until it gets here! I know that this will make working with my Cricut and Design Studio so much easier! I'm so happyyyy!!

Got the Inspiration Back!

Woo Hoo! I've been blog hopping for a couple of days and found some unbelievably talented and generous people who have shared their .cut files. It took me a bit of time to get some of them open as I kept getting a date time validity error. Turns out that I simply had to switch my region settings to US, instead of Canada, and viola!! Design Studio files open and cutting! I'm so thrilled at the possibilities I can see with these.

Here's a picture of one that I actually tried today. This is a combination from two different cut files. The card came from Linda over at Just For Sharing. This woman is incredibly talented and I am both inspired and jealous! Beautiful work!!

The inside of the card came from Carla at Scrapped Lives. Also incredibly GORGEOUS files!!

But I didn't stop there! :) Monday's are my day with Riley - and what better way to spend the day than with a 4 year old that loves to "cut paper"? She uses up all the scraps! :) We made this one...

Now, I will tell you that the pop up here is not my design! I thought I had downloaded this one so as to give the designer credit - so I will update this entry with that information, as soon as I can find it.

(FOUND IT! Got this wonderful creation from Kay over at Clever Someday. Thank you Kay! You opened up a world of possibility for me with these designs.)

The last one we did was another download from Just For Sharing. I absolutely LOVE this one! I embossed the front of these cards and added some ribbon to kind of make them my own. Thank you again, Linda, for your incredible designs!

Lost The Mojo...

I need help getting creative! I spent the last two days working on a "Plan of Salvation" project for our ward missionaries - and it did turn out pretty cute, but I can't think of new things to create! I need some motivation, so I've been blog hopping and hope to have someone else's creations strike me.

Speaking of blog hopping... I have found so many wonderful blogs of people who want to share their creativity. Isn't there anyone who wants to follow my blog??

My Girl is 21!

I can't believe it! My girl is 21 years old! I never would have believed that time would go by so fast... We didn't do much for her day, as she had plans with friends, but we did get to see her for a little bit to blow out her candles. I made her a word book with some pictures of birthday's past, as well, and she loved it! :) If you would like a copy of this file, please email me directly at fifthavenuegirl@shaw.ca.

After we had done with the birthday party, I raced over to the church to help out with our ward Relief Society service project. We had a pajama party (although only 2 of us showed up in pajamas!) and we made pajama pants to be donated to the Sheriff King Home here in Calgary. As it turned out, this was a huge project! We will have to have another night to finish what we started! But here are some pics of everyone working away at pinning, cutting and serging... Love these girls!!
There were those present who said they didn't know what to do - but they came to help anyway, and I loved that about those girls. I've included President Uchdorf's message here, because those wonderful ladies inspired me.

Wow! Got a ton of crafting done today! I do some respite for a little girl on Mondays and she loves to "cut paper". So while she destroyed some of my scraps and extra cuts - I got all of these done!

Cute story to tell too...
Sitting at dinner tonight and Terry looks at his cucumbers and says, "Now I know why they are called cutecumbers! Cause they are cute!"

Gosh did we laugh! Had to help him listen closely to how it is actually pronounced - but I'm not sure that he'll remember. :)

Busy Weekend

I've hardly been home this weekend - but I've been having a blast! I was so happy that I got to head down to the Cardston Temple with my mother yesterday. She and I have never done that - just the two of us. It was such a beautiful day, great driving weather and great conversation! I love ya, Mom! Thanks for the great day!

I got to spend a brief amount of time with my boys - who had apparently had a GREAT "Boys Day with Dad" - before my scrapbook club.

Here's what I made last night...

This was a new one for me - I think she called it "spotlighting". I'm not a huge stamper, but this one was definitely fun! We did make one other project - but I'm saving that one for Father's Day. :)

My first post on this blog!

I've seen so many inspirational blogs that I thought I'd give this a whirl myself. I started with my Cricut back in October - but had to upgrade to the Expression a couple months ago... LOVE IT! I'll start by posting a couple of pictures of things I've created lately - and maybe a few things that inspire me too.
